What sets your company above the others?
Our Founder and CEO is not only a candle supplier but also a candle manufacturer. She tests the products and only chooses the best products before selling to others for use in their businesses.
What wick does that jar take?
While a jar can't take a wick itself, the ingredients that go in it is what really depends on what wick to use. The facts are an empty jar doesn't need a wick...the wick is based off of fragrance, color and additives. Some fragrances are thicker than others and some colors take more to create them than others.
Can I use any jar to make my candle?
All candle jars have been tested and meet the ASTM standards for burning a candle. They are tested for heat strength which keeps the heat and flame inside the jar without it breaking. Jars that are not approved for candles put you and your customer at risk for fire and other injuries.
What type of wax is best?
The National Candle Association (www.candles.org) has done the research for us. All candle waxes are just as safe as the next one. If is personal preference and what you are wanting to achieve in your product. Some have better cold or hot throw.
Is burning candles harmful?
No. The minuscule amount of soot produced by a candle is the natural byproduct of incomplete combustion. Candle soot is composed primarily of elemental carbon particles, and is similar to the soot given off by kitchen toasters and cooking oils. These everyday household sources of soot are not considered a health concern, and are chemically different from the soot formed by the burning of diesel fuel, coal, gasoline, etc.
Are candles made with natural or essential oils safer?
Not necessarily. However, Candle making ingredients sold by us are known to be safe and approved for use in candles, whether “natural” or synthesized.
Why do you sell Zinc Core wicks?
Zinc-core wicks are used in container candles and votives to keep the wick upright when the surrounding wax liquefies during burning. Scientific studies have repeatedly shown both zinc-core wicks to be safe, lead free and non-toxic.
How much fragrance should I put in my candle?
It depends on what wax you are using and what you want out of your candle. Check your wax to see what the maximum fragrance load is and don't exceed it. Exceeding the limit can create and unsafe candle. We recommend testing ours at 6% and adding more if needed.
Are your fragrances natural or synthetic?
Unless noted in the title we use synthetic fragrances that are created by high-end fragrance houses and are a premium fragrance oil. We love these for their true smell and fragrance throw.
Can I add items to my candle?
Basically, if it isn't made of wax it doesn't belong in your candle. Adding dried flowers, herbs and gems is extremely dangerous and can make the flame burn out of control. Making safe candles for the consumer is our responsibility.
